Private Retreat – Entebbe, Uganda
The Place – A grassland + forested site right on the shores of Lake Victoria.
The Brief – We asked to design the gardens around this countryside family home on the shores of Lake Victoria in Uganda. The site itself includes overgrazed pastures and extensive areas of indigenous woodland. As with all of our projects our focus was to combine the needs of the brief and to protect and conserve the natural ecological biome which exists.
The Design – The design creates a series of paths + terraces moving through more manicured gardens close to the house and leading down to a re-established grassland next to the lake shore and re-forested zones adjacent to the cottage rooms. The project is entering into the construction phase and we are about to break ground.
