The Place – A Cistercian Monastery in Rakai, Southern Uganda, a stones throw from the shores of Lake Victoria.
The Brief – We asked by Studio FH Architects to help design four main courtyards within the extended Monastery, These needed to include the Cloister, the Church courtyard, the Noviciate Courtyard, and the Visitors courtyard.
Private Garden in Provence – Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Southern France.
The Place – This project is a private house in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence in Southern France.
The Brief – We were asked to design a garden which dealt with key privacy issues from the surrounding canal path and road, classic provincial garden brimming with aromatic Mediterranean plants.
Private Retreat – Entebbe, Uganda
The Place – A grassland + forested site right on the shores of Lake Victoria.
Urban design landscape project, Nairobi Kenya
The Place – A pedestrian walkway and extensive green facade for Phase IIIb at the Sarit centre Mall in the heart of Nairobi.
The Brief – We were asked to design the green facade and also create an activated public access which allows for a stimulating outdoor space.
Guest House, Muzanze, Rwanda
The Place – Muzanze is a highland town in Rwanda which is used as the base for guests visiting the rare and highly protected Gorilla families in the Volcano National park. Interestingly the site sits right in the middle of town, surrounded by houses and in formal dwellings which overlooked the site.
